Omg is what I have to say at this point. This town is not what I am accustomed to as a person who lives in the woods and normally has deer and squirrels for company. This city is insanely busy and is definitely on the go. I got here a few hours ago and got set up in the hotel then decided to walk to the con center and get my media pass and scope the scene out.
The show floor is buzzing with activity and forklifts! Everywhere you look they are setting up booths and unpacking crates everywhere. I was about to get run over everywhere I turned, almost like a game of frogger or something. First order of business was getting to the media room and checking that out and getting my pass printed up. That was very painless and took less than 5 minutes. Media room looks nice and cozy I imagine I will be spending a lot of time in there.
Second order of business was locating the way to the South Hall and the EA booth. Found it fairly easy as it is right there as you enter the hall. I was walking around for about an hour looking for any familliar faces from the Bioware staff but no such luck. I was able to sneak in a take this pic of a big screen they had set up, until I was kindly told to please exit the room and no more photos just yet 🙂

I pleaded with the lady and told her I had people that needed to see this info! She smiled and said “not yet they don’t” Well I guess the bulk of it will have to wait for tomorrow, for now I am going to snuggle up with my large meat lovers from Domino’s and see what it is that I missed today while flying. Don’t even get me started about the flight in that was awful too, and the wifi at this hotel? OMG what else can go wrong!
Till tomorrow when all the action starts, this is Swtorcrafter signing out!
Published by Mikro under E3, news on Jun. 07. 2011.
News is already starting to come in from E3 although it hasn’t even started yet! Unfortunately, a lot of sites are reporting wrong information so stuff like 4-man raids and experience with the Operation: Eternity Vault are all wrong. This puts a taint on what information is actually correct and what is a product of reporter confusion. My best guess is that some members of the press were invited to play Talar V flashpoint and got to play the Origin worlds (as is said in the machinima.com interview with Daniel Erickson). Everything else you might read is reporters getting confused in between what they played and what they heard will be talked about on the show floor.
The following interview Machinima did with Daniel Erickson is a nice intro into what is happening. Nothing new is revealed but it is always nice hearing DE talk (yes, I’m a fanboi).
The next piece of information I am not sure about. Kotaku released an article about the first impression of the game and mentions the Raid content. There have been some questions raised about the validity of information in this article, but some of it seems valid.
I hope we’ll sort all of this confusion out by this time tomorrow when people that know what they are doing will be reporting from the show floor.
On that note I leave you with an image of our very own SWTORCrafter’s E3 Media badge that he just got at the LA Convention Center.
Several screenshots have just been released as part of the E3 2011 SWTOR media kit. They include in-game screens of Tatooine, Alderan “scenario” (all of these are entitled Ulgo .. make your own guesses here) and Vehicles (player mounts). Here are the screens:
June 6. 2011. is the date when last of the trilogy of cinematic trailers for Star Wars: The Old Republic got released. The name of the trailer is “Return” and it is arguably the best of the three and probably the best piece of Star Wars cinema since the movies. This will also be the intro cinematic that you will see once you start up the game.
This concludes our live coverage of the EA Press Conference. We hope you enjoyed it. Keep a look out for more because we will have our very own SWTORCrafter reporting from the show floor starting tomorrow early morning.
Here is the trailer that was shown at the EA press conference and that you can currently view at Origin.com.

Mass Effect 3 trailer starting the conference (12:30 PDT)
Mass Effect 3 for XBoX was just shown at the Microsoft Press Conference. Presentation was held by Dr. Ray Muzyka. We could see dialogue being controlled through Kinect voice and gestures and battle being contrrolled through Kinect technology as well. It looked a bit surreal and the opening few minutes of the game looked amazing. There were gasps in the audience. I have some low quality screenshots captured from the live feed which you can see bellow.
The biggest Electronic Entertainement Expo in the world is only 24 hours away, yet things seem to have started already. Companies have already started their big pre-show press conferences and first major announcements will be made there. The most interesting conference for The Old Republic fans is the Electronic Arts conference that starts in roughly 3 hours. SWTOR Life will try and bring you all the news form various sources. We will be looking for any SWTOR related news from both the SWTOR team as well as EA team, major press and fansite representatives at the event. All of that coverage will be presented in an comprehensible form in a live blog right here on the site so make sure you check back often. Here is the latest news about what we can expect to happen.
Breaking News
@masseffect, official Mass Effect Bioware game Twitter account, just mentioned that “new BioWare online feature (will be) making its debut” at the press conference.
All of the head Bioware people have been calling this “Mass Effect Monday”. This is in line with the fact that the first major trailer for Mass Effect 3 will be shown at the press conference and more news will be revealed. We will also be reporting on this in a separate news item, because we love Mass Effect just as much :).
Stephen Reid, our beloved Community Manager, had a few things to say about the whole press conference thing and SWTOR.
Press conference should start about 12:30pm PDT, 3:30pm EDT, 8:30pm/9:30pm UK/EU time and lasts an hour.
During said press conference, you will see… something. I want to warn you that said ‘thing’ may spoil you for another ‘thing’.
Basically, I think you may enjoy the ‘thing’ more if you don’t watch the press conference. With the thing. That spoils the thing.
Sigh. Look – here’s the best advice. Make sure you’re following @SWTOR … that’s about the best advice I can give you. 🙂
I will say with some certainty that apart from #SWTOR, there’s other cool stuff to see during the EA presser, so tune in if you can. 🙂
Origin (Editor note: new digital distribution service by Electronic Arts) will be hosting many CONTENT exclusives from today. Think videos. Including a #SWTOR one. (Editor note: once the press conference ends it is expected that you will be able to find all the shown trailers at the origin.com website)
As part of their pre-E3 marketing activities Electornic Arts redesigned their EA.com site and announced the beginning of a new digital distribution service that they call Origin. The redesigned EA.com website sports two important sections for all The Old Republic fans; the E3 live coverage section and Star Wars: The Old Republic dedicated page. A bit of interesting information I found on the SWTOR page is that is listed as a “PLATFORM: PC Download”, which hints that they will sell it as a digital distribution on the EA.com site. Click here to read why I am not a fan of this new service

Here’s some honest, heartfelt and hopefully friendly advice for #SWTOR fans: take a deep breath and know we’re making an amazing MMO that IS coming. Trust me. It’s coming. 🙂
The above was tweeted by Stephen Reid, Community Manager of The Old Republic. Having met the man I can tell you he is the least bulls**t person in marketing I’ve met so far. The quote above, it is actually his honest opinion. After seeing Friday, pre-E3, information blast we come closer to sharing his sentiment.
Information was released through the official site and its Friday Update as well as through Gamespot and MMORPG.com. What we know now from this info blast is what we can expect to find out more about at E3.
End game content (introducing the first raid The Eternity Vault)
High level gameplay on Tatooine with Imperial classes
New Cinematic Trailer (last of the trilogy)
Something about Alderaan (I am thinking PvPvE scenario)
Vehicles (mounts)
Auction house and social hubs
Next big thing is the trailer released on Gamespot that shows all of the game’s systems and for the first time we officially see player mounts, auction house and social hubs. You can see the trailer bellow:
I know, I know, I missed last weeks article and I apologize! Life caught up to me and I just lost track of time. So this week I hope to fix that by bringing out a forum post that will probably spark some debate as it has on the forums. I’ll get right to the point and you can read the original post below, then you can read further and I’ll post my thoughts. feel free to add your comments on this as well at the end!
