Published by under news,Patch on Nov. 15. 2012.

Ruddyscale Kowakian Monkey lizard

Although SWTOR Life is no more I had to notify any visitors that today is the launch of Free to Play option for Star Wars: The Old Republic and our sister site SWTOR Spy, has been preparing for it extensively. Having a responsibility for tens of thousands of visitors we have updated SWTOR Spy with new information and introduced some new functionality. If the first thing you are interested in once game is open to players is to get the new HK-51 companion you will want to read SWTOR Spy’s guide to obtaining it, because there is a rather long quest chain with multiple points of interest you should check out. The guide is full of screenshots and detailed explanations and you can find it at:
HK-51 companion quest guide
Note: HK-51 gift information and general information are included on that page as well!
Next big thing coming in this patch is the Cartel Market and you can check out the following articles and tools SWTOR Spy provided:

  • Cartel Market Web Calculator (simulates the in-game market. You can check out the prices of all the items available in the shop and add them to your wishlist, which you can share with your friends)
  • List of all Cartel Market Super Rares with screenshots (you have a chance of getting a Super Rare item from Cartel Packs you purchase for Cartel Coins. We have a list. Note: not all items are activated yet)
  • List of all Cartel Market Items (these are the actual items you get when you purchase something in the Cartel Market – datamined so not all are available in-game yet)

Last but not least are updates to the content SWTOR Spy is famous for and that’s been updated for 1.5.

There will be more updates over the coming days, but there is plenty to go through as it is. To all those still enjoying The Old Republic, or that are about to start enjoying it we hope you will find SWTOR Spy’s content useful.

Patch 1.2 Flashpoint and mini-pet guides

Published by under Guide on Apr. 14. 2012.

As part of our coverage of the newly released Legacy Patch 1.2 we have compiled two high quality guides that are a must read for any Star Wars: The Old republic player. The first guide covers the new flashpoint “Lost Island” with its 7 bosses. We cover tactics for each of the bosses with screenshots and tips on how to defeat them. As most of you know, Bioware decided to increase the difficulty of encounters in newly released flashpoints and operations and we believe a guide like this will help you defeat the bosses without needing to experiment too much. Also, it beats watching pointless videos on youtube with no explanations.
Lost Island Flashpoint guide:

The second guide is about a super cool mini-pet that is not easily obtainable. Bioware decided to introduce another very cool thing that you can obtain by going to several planets, doing unexpected thing. We had the Magenta Crystal before, and now it is the Orokeet mini-pet. You will need to visit both Alderaan and Tatooine to get this little guy and we have compiled a guide with 27 screenshots to help you add this cute fellow to your pet collection. Visit our sister site SWTOR Spy for a full walkthrough to getting the Orokeet mini pet.

Patch 1.2 Overview

Published by under Guide,Patch on Apr. 11. 2012.

Release of the “1.2 – Legacy” patch is imminent. We have less than 12 hours remaining before it hits the live servers (you can read the full announcement here). This patch is one of the biggest patches in the history of MMOs and it will bring a whole lot of changes and improvements to Star Wars: The Old Republic. It is very hard to cover all the changes included in the patch, but we have tried to compile a small list of the most interesting changes you will see once you install the new patch. This has all been put into a form of a guide on our sister site SWTOR Spy and by browsing through various tabs you can see all the changes we discovered while playing the test version of the patch. Our resident Lore junkie, Mr Joshrooms, also posted an article about how the Legacy patch and Star Wars Lore are intertwined. Among our patch 1.2 coverage we have also managed to find out which gifts will your Ship Droids like once the patch is active. Yes, ship droids will now receive gifts and you can increase your affection with them! Check out all the aforementioned features on the links bellow:
