Server Transfers Reaction

SWTOR server transfers meme

The day has come for my server to get a free transfer to Nightmare lands. The moment I found out about it was the moment I transferred. It was a painless process that took about 2 minutes. I had to repick my legacy name, but my character names were left intact. The best thing was the fact that there were hundreds of people around on the server. LFG requests and PvP matches were just flying by. It almost felt uncomfortable after the desolation of my previous server. The fact is that I have not stopped playing SWTOR in the past 3 days since the transfer. I have neglected all my other obligations and am in a fight with the wife, but it is SWTOR as it always should have been and I am taking every advantage of it I can.

I lost my name, my legacy name, all my alts names… the very purpose behind rolling some of these alts and making some of the cosmetic choices no longer make sense with the loss of thos names
My guild has lost it’s name, countless members are yet to be reintegrated, we lost our 3 guild bank tabs even though we followed all their instructions…

#1- If they were going to force people to a single server they should have converged everyone going to server X at the same time (and then those to Y server the next day, then Z) rather than on multiple days of sending small portions of the people to server X, Y and Z every day. At least everyone would get an even chance

#2- Why even force people to an already existant server? Why not eliminate innactive accounts from taking up active player’s names? Let the transfers happen…

Meanwhile we have other games in beta that already let you transfer your characters from one server to another of your choice…

If I pre-ordered and got the CE and all… it was so I could make sure I had the name I wanted.

So while I understand the mergers do positive things for a lot of players… honestly it was terribly handled.

I was very leery of name losses – my entire experience of Rift was destroyed when my server got merged and I lost all my characters’ names. All of them.

Also, I have zero interest in being on a server with a queue. The transfer we were offered was from a server with a decent population to one that has queues. No thanks.
