Hot Off The Presses! The Latest Feature on Swtor-Life, “The RP XP” written by “MJ”

Published by under Site news on Sep. 02. 2011.

All fun aside and in all seriousness, today I have the pleasure of Introducing our latest featured writer to the site and the launch of our newest weekly column, “The RP XP” written by our newest staff member “MJ”.

Here at the offices of Swtor-Life we have been trying to decide which area of game play and related topics would be best for us to branch out into for you the community.  You are the heart and soul of why we do this.

We have the normal news style posts about SWTOR like most fan sites do, rehashed from fan site to fan site but, it is still necessary to get that out there to you. We have some funny and witty articles, we have some specialized content focusing on specific areas of game play like crew skills and in game economics to class focused content.

We are pretty well rounded as is but we wanted to add more. We want to add something else that’s specialized in nature, but of a different direction than we have taken you in the past. We want to chart unexplored space here at Swtor-Life while we ride the train leading up to launch and beyond.

We discussed which areas of game play would be best for us to branch out into, PVP, PVE, more of certain class focused writing? They all sounded good but in the end we decided to go with a focus on Role Playing. It was then that as luck would have it we found our latest addition to the staff here at Swtor-Life, MJ.

Role Playing in a MMO, (and specifically in Star Wars The Old Republic MMO set to launch around holiday 2011) is a facet of game play that has always had a very dedicated following.

While the following for it in a MMO is usually not a big as other game play styles like Raiders, Hardcores and Casuals, etc, it does seem to have a common theme among its members. The people that love to Role Play are usually passionate and creative people, endlessly dedicated to their art.

That is what we especially love here, the fans for this game that are passionate and creative people, along with all fans in general. That is why we have decided to scratch this itch within the community and provide you guys with a valuable resource to draw inspiration from.

Join me in welcoming him to the team here and it is our hope you will enjoy our latest weekly column starting today and every Friday, entitled “The RP XP with MJ”

Please feel free to comment on his articles and let him know how you feel!

Follow him on twitter too!

🙂

MJ has been a roleplayer since high school, back when Members Only jackets were in vogue and the only MMORPGs had no MMOs and could only be found in dungeon manuals and small velvet bags of multi-sided dice.

Also a published fiction author with several projects currently in the works (from sci-fi to fantasy to Steampunk), MJ believes that RP is an art form, an extension of story and character that you create yourself through creative writing and virtual performance. In his weekly column, “The RP XP with MJ” he will share tips and tricks for roleplayers of every level and background, with a particular emphasis on roleplay in Star Wars: The Old Republic.

If there’s a particular topic you’d like him to cover, a question you’d like him to answer, or if you’d like to share an RP experience of your own, write him at:

swtorliferp@gmail.com.

Now check out his first column here “A Jedi Walks Into A Bar”
