The servers will be going down tonight from 2AM CDT (12AM PDT/3AM EDT/8AM BST/9AM CEST/5PM AEST) until 6AM CDT (4AM PDT/7AM EDT/12PM BST/1PM CEST/9PM AEST) in order to fix an issue that has popped up during the recent patch regarding the Matrix Cubes.
Players have been logging in since the most recent patch to find that their Matrix Cubes are no longer equipped, nor are they in their inventory. This is obviously very concerning to the players who went through all the trouble to track down their shards in order to build their cube, which are generally one of the best in slot items that players can currently equipped. Tonight’s patch should not only fix the problem but it should also restore the cubes to anyone who has had their cube vanish.
UPDATE: This maintenance was canceled until further notice for an undisclosed reason. We will update you on the new maintenance time when it become available.
UPDATE 2: The new maintenance time is scheduled for Thursday, May 10th from 2AM CDT (12AM PDT/3AM EDT/8AM BST/9AM CEST/5PM AEST) until 6AM CDT (4AM PDT/7AM EDT/12PM BST/1PM CEST/9PM AEST). All game servers will be offline during this period.
This week’s patch notes are as plentiful as last week’s notes, not surprising as we are still seeing some of the bugs from 1.2 hanging around. There are also some nice little quality of life features added, such as players reviving a “Timed Run” buff when attempting Eternity Vault or Karagga’s Palace on Nightmare Mode in order for them to better track the time needed to defeat them in order to gain the special titles.
You can find all of this week’s notes after the jump. Continue Reading »
There are few things that ruin a game quite like gold sellers. There is nothing that will ruin an economy quite like hackers who flood the market with their ill gotten game money. The fact these this kind of actions even take place astounds me. Not the fact that the hackers exist, that is nothing to be surprised about. Continue Reading »
Another Friday, another Q&A session between the developers and the community. This week we found out about some more features that may be included in the game at a later date (such as a mentoring system and some guild leader functionality), got some economy questions answered, learned the hows and whys of the companions, and a whole bunch more.
You can find all of this week’s questions and answers after the jump. If you want to submit a question to BioWare head over to the official forums and leave your question with the developers. Who knows, you may just find your question among those that are tackled next Friday! Continue Reading »
Servers went down, servers came back up, and we were presented with a nice healthy amount of patch notes for our trouble. There were a lot of little fixes in this weeks maintenance, and some little quality of life improvements as well. Almost all areas of the game have been hit with some fixes this week, not surprising since the game has needed some bugs ironed out since the release of 1.2.
Check after the jump for the full list of patch notes this week, and let us know your thoughts on them in the comments section below. Continue Reading »
Friday, oyu are indeed an amazing day. it’s the herald of the weekend, a day for fun with friends and family, and of course the day that the team over at BioWare takes the time to answer some of the community’s questions about SWTOR. This week the developers answer some questions about future game events, dual spec, a groupfinder, character transfers, crafting crit chances, and a whole slew of other topics.
As usual there is a bunch of great info that comes out of these weekly Q&A sessions that make it worth every SWTOR player’s time to check out the full article. Some of the future features are subject to change of course, but getting a little insight into what the team is working on for future content is always awesome. You can read all of this week’s questions and answers after the jump, and we would love to hear your thoughts on them in the comments below. Continue Reading »
SWTOR fansite landscape was always rich and full of various projects. It includes some of the most popular podcasts in the gaming space, there have been fansites active for 3+ years and people always loved talking, writing and contemplating about Star Wars: The Old Republic. It is no surprise that new projects keep coming up. The latest project is a bit special for us here at SWTOR Life, because one of our own – Joshrooms – participates in it. It is a vodcast (video podcast) called “Inside SWTOR” with several panelists discussing the current happenings in SWTOR. All panelists are members of the Pillars of Ashla PvP/PvE guild on the Juyo server and they play SWTOR very actively. They have produced 2 episodes so far and you can see things getting a bit more relaxed and smooth. If there is one new SWTOR project you want to look out for, this is the one. Oh yeah, and Joshrooms sports and EPIC beard :). You can keep up with new episodes by subscribing to the Fragworld Youtube channel or following http://tor-world.com, which is their home website.

You may recall that a few months ago SWTOR was officially released in the Asia-Pacific region. When the servers were brought up for the region it was announced that players who lived in that region and currently had characters on North American or European servers would be able to transfer their characters to the Asia-Pacific servers a few months down the line. Well that time is now.
This is a free service being offered only to players who live in that region, and while it is great news for these players the road has not necessarily been a smooth one so far. The process is largely a manual one for the time being, and due to this Mr. Stephen Reid is communicating quite frequently with players of that region to try and help make sure any problems with the transfers get handled smoothly. Check below for some of the quotes from Stephen Reid, and be sure to check out the Asia-Pacific FAQ if you have any questions about the transfer. Continue Reading »
